Atlanta Cask Ale Festival

The CroBros and Cindy were all up in the 8th Annual Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting, and it was fabulous! The event took place at 5 Seasons Brewing and Taco Mac Prado and featured 38 cask ales. Needless to say, we were like kids in a candy store.

The afternoon was beautiful, nearly 40 firkins were present, and we made sure we had a nice food base. It was a great time and we highly recommend folks plan on attending next year! Check out the winners and crowd faves at the Brewtopia website and book mark it if you might consider going next year (that’s where you will get your tickets).

Anyway, here are some of the ales we tasted. Try some of them yourself and let us know what you think, unless your opinion differs from ours. In which case, you should keep your opinions to yourself.

Stinkers:

Allagash Interlude– Our heads involuntarily shook when tasted. Uh uh.

He’Brew Jewbelation 15–nothing to do with religious affiliations; don’t even think the almighty would approve.

Lazy Magnolia Stoutgasm–love them, but no. Just no.

Twain’s Acey-Deucy Wild Saison– Too sour and dry,

Yummers:

Cigar City El Lector English Dark Mild Ale– Very mild, good session beer.

Heavy Seas Siren Noire Imperial Chocolate Stout– The chocolate-ist beer ever.

Weyerbacher Fireside Ale– Crisp and lightly smoky.

Stone Ruination IPA– They said it was “sex inside steel”…indeed.
